The story Silver Blaze by Arthur Conan Doyle is about a famous race horse that went missing right before a race. This story also focuses on a mystery of who murdered John Straker. A stranger went to Straker and murdered him for his famous winning horse. Sherlock Holmes and Watson had to go to The King’s Pyland where a suspicious man followed them. They noticed that and saw a missing horse. They put that man on the list of suspects they made. They later found out that he had not only taken the Famous winning horse for the Wessex Cup, but he had murdered the owner with a headshot. I liked this story because of what Sherlock and Watson have to find out about the horse and the murderer of his trainer. I was surprised when the person who got murdered, John Straker, got killed by a total stranger. I thought this story was interesting because of the mystery of the murderer and who took Silver Blaze. The murderer, Fitzroy Simpson, went to Dartmoor along with Holmes and Watson. I think this is interesting because they all went to the same place in Dartmoor too. They all went to The King’s Pyland. Not to mention, Silver Blaze was missing in The King’s Pyland and Simpson became a suspect for murder when he went TO the King’s Pyland. I think it is interesting that Holmes finds horse and shoe tracks in soil. I find that interesting because they found out that Straker got killed by a bullet to the head and that Simpson not only stole Silver Blaze, but murdered John Straker. I find it weird that Holmes can find one little thing like a dust particle and turn it into a murder mystery that he finds in a matter of hours. It’s weird how he found a missing horse and also found a whole mystery of a missing race horse and a guy who murdered the trainer in a matter of hours to days. I felt happy when they found out who murdered the trainer and took the horse. It’s exactly like when you complete a hard level in a game that you have been stuck on or you have won a race on a configuration that you have been practicing for months. When they found out who did those terrible things, it must have been a big accomplishment for them.
